About this one
TEST DATA. A ceramic table lamp from around 1974, glazed in oatmeal, with a new linen shade. Maker unknown — there is no mark on the base.
TEST DATA. A side table or a desk. It takes an E27 bulb and it is heavy enough not to be knocked over. It has been rewired with new flex and a new plug, which is not optional on anything of this age.
Condition

How it looks

TEST DATA. Two small glaze chips near the base, both under two millimetres. Crazing across the whole body, which is age rather than damage. The shade is new.

How it works

TEST DATA. Rewired with new flex, a new switch and an earthed plug. Tested on a residual current device with no fault. Switch works cleanly. It has not been electrically certified. Rewiring is a repair, not a certificate.

Checked by Unseend in August 2026, before it was photographed and again before it is packed. Every photograph on this page is of this exact piece.

Lieve's five

TEST DATA. Five pieces from a house that was sold in the spring.
My mother bought that lamp the week I was born. It still works. That is a long time for a lamp.
In Lieve’s own wordsOpens here

TEST DATA. The house was being sold and the five things that mattered were the five things nobody in the family wanted.

Lieve decided they should go somewhere they would be used rather than somewhere they would be stored.
