What these objects are

Almost everything here was made decades ago, to the standards of its time. It was not made to today's rules and it is not sold as though it were.

Anything that plugs into the mains is sold on the understanding that it has not been electrically certified. Where an object has been electrically checked, the condition paragraph says so and says when.

Batteries

Objects are sold without batteries unless the page says otherwise. Old cells leak and ruin the thing they are inside, which is the most common way a working object becomes a broken one.

Children

Nothing here is a toy and nothing here is sold for children, regardless of what it may once have been. Small parts, glass, old paint and old wiring are all reasons to keep these objects away from small hands.
