What that means

A camera from 1979. A watch you wind in the morning. A lamp worth rewiring. Objects somebody kept for decades, and that will go on being used.

When one goes, its page stays, without its price.

One good detail

Every object has something only a fan would notice: the first meter of its kind, a dial colour made for a single year, the box that is half the value. We find it and write it down. The models we see most are written up once, model by model, on the models.

How the pages read

No grades out of ten, no excellent. Every object has two short paragraphs: how it looks, and how it works. The year is the year it was made, and the photographs are of that object and no other.

Every object comes with three months' guarantee on top of your legal rights, and fourteen days to change your mind: guarantee and returns.

What you will not read here

That an object is rare, unless it can be shown. That it is the last one, the only one, or going fast.

Kept by someone

Most objects arrive without a story, and their pages stay quiet about it. Sometimes the person who kept one is happy to be named, and then their first name, their city and their words are on the page. Some of them are on where these have been.

Who this is

I am Toni. I have been buying and selling old cameras, watches and collectibles for years, first through my shops on Etsy, where close to ten thousand of them went to new owners, and now here. Unseend is based in Berkel en Rodenrijs, just outside Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. I photograph the objects and write the pages myself, and when you write to the shop, I am the person who answers.
